Ever been in a real muddy situation? One where your shoes or boots were completely destroyed? Well, I have, it was on a farm, in the spring, just after the snow had melted, in the Northeast. Picture the scene, mud and muck as slippery as ice, animals, dirty, you get the picture.
One of the reasons I had to do some work on this farm was for my job. I was basically there to evaluate a few systems, not to get dirty. But, just setting foot on the property was a mistake, for my shoes. I was completely unprepared and new. Now I see things differently, you live and learn is my new motto. Do not show up to a New England farm in the spring with shoes and ask the owner “can I look at the wiring to your barn?”
Muck Boots to the rescue! Okay, we’re not talking superman here, but let me tell you about how I learned about these great little rubber boots. The owner of the farm had several pair; in fact, everybody that either worked there or set foot on the property owned a pair. Impressed, I bought myself a pair and have never ruined a pair of shoes since.
The farm was also a horse farm where several horses were kept and cared for. The owners of these horses would ride in the fields wearing brit rider muck boots. Yep, special boots just for riding horses. They keep your feet clean, dry, and apparently very comfortable.
Since there are so many Internet resources available throughout the world these days, really all you need to do is search for dealers handling muck boots and there you go, dry, warm feet. Learn from my experience, and save some time. These boots are also great for gardening too.
